Also, this:RSS, or Really Simple Syndication/Rich Site Summary, is a web feed that lets users and applications access updates to a website in a standardized format. The format became particularly popular in the blogging era, as it offered a way to subscribe to a site’s new posts in a news-reading app. Google once operated the most popular of these, but shut it down in 2013, ceding the market to companies like Feedly and other indie applications.
2013 was 13 years ago.

I'mma gonna continue saying DoD, thank you very much. Meridian is an interesting idea, but the DoD historically does a lot of studies. We probably are in serious need of renewal of ideas, and reorientation. Gonna just have to see where this one goes.

Reddit is one of the worst offenders in the "please use our app" sweepstakes. If you're browsing Reddit on a mobile device, not only do they stick a "please use our app" banner at the top taking up 5% of your screen, but after about a minute of browsing, a huge "Use the app to continue browsing" notification pops up, blocking what you were trying to read, and disabling all interaction with the page making it impossible to continue reading the page without using the app. An app which I refuse to use, on general principles: I'm sure it does its best to harvest data from other apps about what you do with your phone, and send that data home for targeted-advertising purposes.
Targeted advertising is a cancer, and Reddit is one of the reasons why. Their financial incentives to push you onto their data-harvesting app are so great that they will literally disable the website for you if you're on a mobile device.
"Reddit is better in the app?" Yes, that's technically true, because you Mister Falcons made the site impossible to use without the app, ON PURPOSE!
No, I'm not the slightest bit annoyed about that, why do you ask? (I wouldn't even use Reddit except that there's a pretty obscure computer game that I play with my wife, and that game's community has ended up settling on Reddit as the place to discuss it).
