- Sony has announced the Xperia 1 II which has got to be the most awkward model name since the Xbox One X. (AnandTech)
Snapdragon 865 with the new Cortex A77, 6.5" 3840x1644 screen, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage. Surprisingly the main camera is only 12MP, but it's joined by a 12MP telephoto camera and a 12MP wide angle camera. USB-C port, micro-SD, and a headphone jack make for a pretty complete package.
Though not a cheap one at €1199.
- Docker is great for deploying code without having to understand exactly what it does or how it works. (Test Double)
Two notes: First, maybe that is not such a great idea, and second, it doesn't help with anything else.
- Eyeing that new Mediapad M6? Forget about it, says Google. (ZDNet)
Google's core apps aren't available on any Huawei device that shipped after May 16, 2019, and there's no indication if or when that might change.
Xiaomi, Oppo, Umidigi, LG - could one of you guys make a decent small tablet, please? Preferably one that doesn't steal all my data.
- AirBNB is offering spying devices to allow owners to keep track of their guests. (Vice)
That? That's not creepy. This is creepy:
The new KidCraft kitchen playset has a built-in Amazon Alexa device. (CNet)
And all the accessories - all of them - are RFID tagged.

Tablets: I wonder if GApps can be sideloaded similar to the way Android custom ROMs do it. The P30 Pro (P20? whichever is the most recent) briefly had a way involving running some Chinese carrier app but that got taken down after it was publicized.
The rumored 2020 Samsung A looks like a decent budgetish tablet except for the GPU, which is a Mali G71 MP2.

I see the article says people "shouldn't" sideload because "apps may not work." This is probably like how Google is claiming Chrome extensions in the new Edge may not be safe.
