I will occasionally engage in a bit of token-maxing (I refuse to use the stupid "two x's" spelling, it's dumb), because I'm on a subscription plan, which means the more tokens I use, the more it costs Anthropic. Hopefully I can cost them more money than they're making off my subscription: I actively want them to go bankrupt. My usage alone won't even come remotely close to that, of course — but if everyone on subscription plans started doing that, they'd have no choice but to cut back on subscription plans to stop hemorrhaging money, at which point there would be even more incentive for people to switch to local models.

Boy, the TechCrunch writer sure does hate Elon Musk, doesn't he? "But hey, all the characters come in a Musk-approved skin color ..." Yes, they look like they live on the Mediterranean. What's your point, Anthony Ha? Are you saying that the characters in the Odyssey shouldn't look Greek?

AI managers - if they've been trained using PHB human managers as models, they couldn't be anything else. And we already have a surfeit of PHB human managers.

Thing is, if to represent someone you must look like them, the San Francisco lunatics are unlike a lot of other people in this world. However, if you can represent people without looking like them, then a lot of this thinking about proxies that we inherited is wrong.

10K launches a year is just enough for an average one moon flight a day (based on that estimate we keep seeing that it takes 22 of them to go to the moon in Starship).

Fathom? Why not Moby, or Pym, or some other inapt reference?

Nice musical selection today; next, do a non-hit song by ABBA - What About Livingston?
