- Intel has started shipping Nova Lake... Engineering samples. (WCCFTech)
Linked from that article is a tweet that announces the news and pronounces AMD's Zen 6 dead on arrival because Nova Lake is just so much faster.
Not mentioned in the tweet (but listed in the article) is that the full dual-die models of Nova Lake will consume up to 700W.

- Intel has also started shipping - for real - its low-end Wildcat Lake CPUs. (WCCFTech)
One of the first laptops with this chip is the Chuwi Unibook priced at just $449.
That's with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD, which is the same as the $599 MacBook Neo, but the Unibook runs Windows 11 which is a miserable experience with 8GB of RAM. Put Linux on it though and it should be fine.
It also has a lot more ports than the MacBook - three extra USB ports, HDMI, and wired Ethernet, plus a microSD slot for a bit more storage.
Which leaves the same question: Can it game? And the answer is... Maybe?
It looks like it has about half the graphics power of my new laptop (which has Intel's Arc 140V integrated graphics), which puts it at the level of my old laptop. Which runs unmodded Minecraft and Hytale just fine, not that that's particularly difficult. This particular model is running the slowest chip from the Wildcat Lake family, and others might do better here.
The screen isn't as good as the MacBook's though - dimmer and lower resolution. And definitely worse than the OLED panels on both my new and old laptops.
- Hackers stole personal data and medical records for 1.8 million people over a period of months from NYC Health + Hospitals. (Tech Crunch)
Well, that's not good.
- Hackers also broke into Grafana's GitHub account and stole everything and threatened to release it all unless they were paid a ransom. (The Register)
Grafana is open source.
Musical Interlude
Same song. Same group, sort of. Forty years apart.
I don't think any of the original members are part of the current lineup, though. Pop group of Theseus.
