It costs twice as much as the desktop card. And is also slower; Nvidia's current laptop models are all one step lower in spec than the desktop cards. The laptop 5090 is really a 5080 with more RAM, and the 5070 is a 5060 Ti.

So Git is good, but the infrastructure is not, and that supporting stuff needs some rework and redesign that I am not really equipped to understand.

Half-right, Pat. Git is objectively poorly designed for anything but the specific workflow of "Linus rapidly triaging kernel patches and throwing away 99% of them", but it became the dominant player despite that. Github is pretty much the same mess at a higher level, with the added complication that they were running out of money and would have shut down if Microsoft hadn't bought them. Microsoft promptly added a third layer of suck to the cake, as they so often do.
