As I recall, and this is going purely out of a faulty memory, Vice started as trash tabloid, but at least somewhat factual; the "vice" being a finger wag at the sorts they were reporting on. It quickly devolved into venal stupidity, but the venture capital let them build an empire of retardation in an era when buzzfeed was God Emperor of Retards. I guess a good number of the insipid dregs from vice and buzzfeed now inhabit the verge, because how else can you explain it? Are we really creating, as a society, that many venal, preeening fuckwits? Is nuclear anihilliation actually preferable?
