  • Apple's solid-state drives are non-standard, encrypted, and soldered in place, but at least they're fast.

    They're fast, right?



    Not a huge problem for laptop users, and probably not for the average desktop user, but don't run an important database on a Mac.  Just don't.

2 Google has done something weird to cutting and pasting links in Chrome recently.  Anyway, fixed now.

3 I mean, DRAM is cheap and fast, so just put a massive DRAM cache ahead of your flash and call it a day.  Oh, you actually want the data you tried to write to be written?  WRONG! You wanted good numbers in benchmarks, and that's what you'll get.
