Everyone Gets A Woodchipper Edition
Tech News
- That backdoor in Huawei's equipment was apparently Telnet. (TechDirt)
Which admittedly should not be active on anything built since 2000 or so, but is not in itself malicious.
- Search 300 million Creative Commons licensed images, most of them terrible.
- Apple cares about your privacy because they don't want anyone else taking away that potential ad revenue. (ZDNet)
- Speaking of Apple, iPhone revenues for Q1 2019 are down 17% from the same quarter last year. (Thurrott.com)
Despite or because of the price increases?
- Facebook is redesigning the worlds busiest web site to not look like hot garbage. (The Verge)
Whether they'll succeed is another question.
Anime Update
Charlotte: Nope.
Asobi Asobase: Nuh-uh.
No Game No Life: No way.
No Game No Life: No way.
Hanayamata: Ya, maybe. And it's on AnimeLab so it's click-and-watch.
Disclaimer: Woodchippers and 6:30 AM do not mix. Seriously, what the fuck?

Recent versions of Chrome helpfully turn the URLs into HTML links when they're already BBCode links, and I have to undo that every time.

I enjoyed Hanayamata. I don't say it's -good- (it is a sports anime with sports anime tropes), but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
NGNL no joy? It wallowed in things which ought not to be wallowed in, but it was a source of some genuine cleverness, which is rarer than gold these days. If anyone does a better game of shiritori, I would gladly trade a reproductive gland for the opportunity to watch it.

Okay, with your recommendation I'll give NGNL another try after Hanayamata.
