The bovine excrement of office documents is stunning. If my document is just written text, I create a .txt file. My supervisor then copies and pastes that into a word document, and boldfaces and indents and fonts up the whole mess (and sometimes adds spurious clipart). I'd go back to a manual typewriter, a coffee cup, and a .357 police special on my desk, if they'd let me. And a bottle of rye under the desk.
