  • React won by default.  (Loren Stewart)

If you wonder why this is a bad thing - particularly if you don't know what React is - imagine if 98% of cars sold were the Ford Escort, even in 2025, simply because it was the default car.

    Did it?  Did it, indeed?

1 So what I'm hearing is that if I lose my mind in a few years, and decided to develop on the desktop in Javascript, not only do I want to use Tauri instead of electron, I want to use svelte and or one of these others instead of react.

(But, my most recent possibility for the future seriously considered was a defense contractor who wants Matlab, Python, and C++.  I have one of these down okayish, I have a tool chain and instructions for another, but the third is one I am LoL.  I am also pretty sure I am missing important parts of the basic software engineering skillset. So I am probably not going to start developing in Javascript on the desktop, at least not tomorrow.)
