    Given how long the article is, I'd say it doesn't.  While the hardware is nominally still open, users are pushed heavily toward cloud services that are not open in any sense of the word.

1 I'm particularly annoyed by the Arduino news, since I discovered that platform last year and was planning to keep playing with it (between everything else that has sucked up my time.). I'm just waiting for them to find some way to tighten the screws.

Not forgiving them for killing Eudora.
