Sure it will!
You can now import Blogspot and Movable Type blogs* in Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Greek and Hebrew** into Minx. Or at least, I can; you'll get the opportunity tomorrow.
Does it work? If have no freaking idea. I've put a wrapper around a standard set of character set codecs to convert your file into Unicode, which gets stored and served as UTF-8. But I don't have any sample blogs in Ukrainian or Korean to try it out with, and I wouldn't necessarily pick up the errors if I did.
It looks interesting if you tell it your file is in Arabic when it's really Windows-1252, though.
I also discovered that Minx wasn't necessarily serving up UTF-8 when it said it was. I'm going to fix that tomorrow as well; it shouldn't affect anything because the back-end really is entirely Unicode, but Steven, if your Japanese examples suddenly turn into randomly accented Latin text, that's why.
* And blogs from anything else that can produce a Blogger/MT-style export file.
** And normal-type languages, too.***
*** Also automatically handles gzip and bzip2!

Well, I decided to peep on the neighbors, but it looks like mee.nu's "sites" page got borked recently. It's only showing three sites: nogshleppers, beatleplague, and 7car.Yeah, there was an error from the sites page in my logs, but it seems to be working fine again. Hate transient bugs.

Okay, but can one import from ENGLISH? When I went to try and move The Pond, it wouldn't let me do nuthin'!Erm... What did you try to do? I haven't turned it on yet, 'cause there were still some bugs. Which I've now shooken out while transferring The Jawa Report.
Anyway, the import function now works very nicely, and will go public in a few hours after I take a little break.

On a side note - I am currently not logged in, when I do a preview my name/email/web page disappear from their respective boxes and I have to go through each box and use the down arrow to pull them back up. (luckily I don't have to retype it all)

I'm going to break for lunch and then enable the import/export functions.
On a side note - I am currently not logged in, when I do a preview my name/email/web page disappear from their respective boxes and I have to go through each box and use the down arrow to pull them back up.Huh. That's weird. I haven't tried the preview when I wasn't logged in; I'll do a bit of testing on that.

Now if only I could figger out why I can't comment at SDB's place when I'm logged in...I'm fixing the error messages right now; as soon as I've uploaded that we should be able to sort it out.

%s have been disabled.
So sayeth Chizumatic when I try to comment. I'm assuming I'm logged in; I can get into my betablog effortlessly... which may not mean I'm registered, I suppose. Different places, Pixy?

Go to mee.nu and log in there and you should be fine. And that stupid error will be fixed in tomorrow's update.

So, how is the import thing supposed to work for munuvians - is it ready for us to do ourselves or will you have to do it? I've been looking around at mee.nu and beta.mu.nu and I'm missing something so I'm feeling rather stupid. It's probably in a post I've missed because I've been working too much or I read something that spelled it out and I'm too dense to see it. Heh.

I have an inherently stupid question, Pixy. I had a beta.mu.nu blog, and I'm assuming you'd like it to go away and turn into a mee.nu site, yah?
Unfortunately, it appears that there's already a 'wonderduck' in mee.nu's system when I go to register. I'm ASSUMING that's my beta.mu.nu self, which is fine, but I'm pretty sure you don't want that addy used anymore.
...and when I try to go to wonderduck.mee.nu, there's "no site matching" that.
Help?

Originally I had planned to keep mu.nu and mee.nu separate except for the user database. That didn't turn out so well, because I had to maintain two sets of databases and two sets of code, and apply all the changes to both. beta.mu.nu fell, first behind, and then over.
So what I'm going to do is set up a gamma.mu.nu... or maybe an alpha.mu.nu, depending on which direction it goes... running on the mee.nu database and codebase, and then create all the mu.nu users' blogs again under that. The pages can still be served from the mu.nu servers because they're all networked together.
I'll try to do that tomorrow.
