Anime

A Question

My new Windows box is named Haruhi.

My new Linux box is named Yurie.

Now I have to buy a new notebook, because my old one exploded.  The important question is, what is its name?

Logically, it should be named after a petite goddess from a 2007 anime series.  But I can't think of any.

Oh, and by the way, I aten't dead. smile

1 If you're looking for girls with comparable power levels. Yume from "Someday's Dreamers" is at that level, too. But she isn't a kami, and the series isn't from 2007.

2 By the way, are you speaking literally when you talk about your old laptop exploding? Bad battery?

3 No, not literally.  One moment it was working fine.  The next moment screen filled with hash, and I shut it down, thinking the video driver had crashed.

Since then, I haven't been able to get it to boot, or even display a BIOS message.

4 Tough question. There was some bunch of supernatural schtick but I bypassed all of it (even Mokke). I guess I'd have to reach for "Isako" or "Michiko". Neither is a goddess, but... Actually I don't know what Michiko is. She may be the goddess of the Internet.

5 Kamichu was 2005, not 2007. Having said that, are you willing to fudge it a bit and go for 2008? In that case you could use Horo, from Spice and Wolf.

6 Kamichu was 2005, Haruhi 2006, so I was looking for a 2007 series.  Just a whimsy, really.

Spice and Wolf might be a good idea.  I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, though...  I do most of my anime watching on my notebook, which is, as I mentioned, somewhat deceased.

Or I could go with Potemayo.  She's petite, and for all we know, she might be a goddess.  Of potatoes.

7 Technically speaking, Skuld qualifies from the second season of Ah! My Goddess, since the dvds came out last year... smile

8 I thought about Skuld, but she's not the central figure in the show, and AMG has been around for a looong time...  And I've had servers named Urd, Belldandy and Skuld before.

None of which was in my original post, but there you go. wink

9 Maybe Fumika from Shigofumi? Deliverer of messages from recently dead souls.

10 That's another one worth considering.

I'd probably feel bad everytime I got email if I kept thinking it meant somebody somewhere has died. wink
