- Of the four big projects of the Eternal October, three down, two to go.
Yes, they added another pilot project at the very last minute, but sanity has prevailed and they're planning to use existing software for that and not try to do the custom launch they originally wanted.
The one that required jamming six weeks of work into three days is also mostly done, thanks to an earlier outbreak of sanity.
These posts should return to their earlier form, with the daily anime videos, some time in November, once I've had a chance to go to the bathroom and stuff like that.

Meanwhile PyPy has updated to Python 3.8. Since I use PyPy - because it's four times faster on average - that means it will be at least a year before I get to use case statements in production code.

Start8 was essential with Windows 8. Start10 was nice to have with Windows 10 but you could live without it. Looks like Start11 is back to being essential.

I'm a little bit surprised to see someone actually make a powered mask.
Review does not analyze the filter media, so that is incomplete.
Eyes, ears, etc. are not covered, so will not substitute for biowar gear or for lab gear designed for a fancy disease lab. If you are in a place where someone has managed to disperse a bunch of biowar viral particles, you are SOL with this.
Effort is probably pointless for the common fucking cold.
Forcing air in might at least mean less skin bacteria forced into the lungs. Fans means that you will not be able to easily clean off bacteria growth from the air intake.
From a bacterial growth perspective, 24 hours per set of filters is probably much too long.
No masking, and the chemically active filter of air, are better.
Steps to bring 'pandemic' under control: 1. Make universities shut down student enrollment for the duration. 2. Force them to abandon their old collection of building. 3. Size to be permanently reduced to what they can fit in all new construction, designed for internal coverage of ultraviolet illumination. 4. They eventually cut this shit out, after being made to bear the costs.
