Sadly, it's not very good.  But this is Japan, so it ran for 95 episodes and spawned at least two live-action spin-offs.

Google google google.  Two live-action theatrical-release films and at least four videos.

For something popular enough to have so many recent releases featuring amply-qualified actresses, it was surprisingly difficult to find out what the hell "maicchingu" actually means.
