Oops They Did It Again Edition

  • Microsoft has effectively destroyed computer security altogether.  (Ars Technica)

    Not directly the subject of the article (which is about Microsoft Recall, again), but of the pinned comment.

    The point being that Recall is such a huge security risk, that even if you disable it (or never install Windows 11 in the first place), you have to assume that anyone you share a document with has been or will soon be hacked.

    Which is bad.

1 Recall:  I'll use W11 for work as necessary, I guess, and I'll keep using it at home for a while but I've been flirting more and more with Linux lately.  Not all of my games work on it, but many do.

2 I hate that Arse wrote "they bricked the ability to use Alexa."  That's a meaningless and stupid way to use that word.  Bricking a device means making it completely unusable.
