The usual suspects are very confused. This is exactly what they want social networks to do, but the social network that is doing it is the one they are supposed to hate.

At no point did Wordpress actually say why the Treehouse was being kicked off the platform. The usual excuse for this is that if the tell you what the rules are you will be able to avoid breaking them.

Someone in the comments suggested mu.nu as an alternative platform, but my experience with Wordpress sites is that they always, always get hacked, and I'm already about 400% busy and wouldn't be available to deal with that.

Do you have a facility for Migrating Wordpress blogs to Minx, or whatever you are using now? Would that even help?
It does seem like , moving forward, Free Speech really is going to be the "killer app"for social media services.
I further suspect that anyone who offers such an outre' commodity is going to get dogpiled by hackers, spammers and DDOS attacks from those who do not want unchaperoned discussions .

You can export the contents of a Wordpress blog and import them into Minx, but it's not seamless; that process was designed mostly to work with Blogspot.
And you're right; once the new site draws attention to itself, I expect it to come under attack. That's happened to us before, but I'd like something that is resilient without me having to be awake at 2 AM.
