That camera bump on the Pixel is atrocious. If it weren't for psychopathic reviewers demanding ever-thinner phones, the whole thing could've been thick enough so as to eliminate the bump, and give us a double-sized battery. And then there'd be no reason to take away the headphone jack.

Is an open hardware phone that is some PCBs held together by a rubber band too much to ask for? Asking for a friend.

I'd be happy with a phone that could make phone calls reliably. If I want a camera, I can just buy a $150 camera and use that. And if I want a walkman, I can just buy one of those. And if I want a NSA tracking device I can have them shove one up my butt at their accursed convenience.

Pat: hilariously, you can do that. http://www.justine-haupt.com/rotarycellphone/index.html is a cell phone cobbled together from a microcontroller and an off-the-shelf 3G modem. This particular one was artisanally silly, but works.
