Well that's good. Fantastic. That gives us 20 minutes to save the world and I've got a post office. And it's shut!

Space Pirate Mito
This is the original show that spawned Aoi & Mutsuki as a sequel. And based on the first episode, it's one of the best examples of late 70's anime I've seen.
Of course, it was made in 1999...
Silly but fun if you don't expect too much from it.

Anime Quote-Classics-Unquote
Hmm. Looks like Youtube is taking a nap. Oh, there we are.
After a remarkably poopy weekend, I finally have things mostly sorted out.
I have a workaround for the cookie problem that will allow the mu.nu migration to Minx to proceed starting tomorrow.
I've locked down all the non-essential stuff in Movable Type and I've implemented a new logging system which tracks all CGI activity, including POST parameters.
I found out where my weekly dose of The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe got to: There's a new feed at iTunes, and you have to resubscribe.
Episode 12 of Potemayo.
Uh, and I found out how to get through Goldor Manor in FFIII. (Hint: Change jobs.)*
It's a minute to midnight, so I think that's all for today. Potemayo, and bed, await.
* My characters in FFIII are named Sunao, Pote, Mikan and Kyo. Unfortunately you're limited to six characters, so no Guchuko.
Looks like my predictions are at least partly right.
Spoiler for Potemayo:
Episode 11 turns on the relationships and bittersweetness. We see Sunao's mother, Mikan's feelings for Sunao, Sunao's dad acting like a human being, Potemayo and Guchuko doing something more than hiss at each other, and flower love. Also, Guchuko turns out to be a transdimensional potato-quoll.
They also drop some hints about the ending, but I suspect there's some misdirection going on there. If I'm right, next week's episode could be rolling-on-the-floor funny.
So is this a deep redress of "Sugar, a little snow fairy"? A kid who is having trouble getting over the death of his mother, is visited for a short time by a cute little something-or-other. They become friends, and then a magical flower blooms to indicate that their time together is over. Whatcha think?

I think it's something along those lines - but I'm pretty sure they're going to deliver a sharp twist in episode 12.

It looks like they went for "cute and sentimental" instead.

How many half-hour eps of it have you seen so far? (It's one of those two-15-minute-eps-released-in-half-an-hour shows, like Ninja Nonsense, which is why I qualify it that way.)

Ah, Guchuko's great chestnut chase. I saw frame grabs from that episode and the chase scene looked like it was wonderful.
But the picture of two kids face down in the snow surrounded by blood bothered me a bit. Please, tell me that Guchuko didn't kill them.
Itty bitty legs notwithstanding, it looks as if Guchuko is extremely strong. How else could she move so fast, let alone bouncing up to the tops of houses? How else could she haul the carcass of a cow into Kyo's yard to leave it as a gift?
One time I compared Guchuko to a feral cat. I'm beginning to get the impression that's a lot more accurate than I had realized. She really does seem to like Kyo, but she's not ready to become domesticated.

And the doughnut-and-weighted-basket trap Kyo's mother set had me giggling for a long time. Even if Guchuko had gotten trapped inside it, she'd have shredded that basket with her axe. (And then taped it all back together again.)

Guchuko "killed" about half of Kyo's classmates, but they don't stay dead.

I found a video clip of the snowball fight, including Guchuko's involvement. Looks like she was doing flying kicks, not axe chops. It's amazing something that small can be that dangerous.

Here's the German techno theme with slightly less added weirdness:

Thought not much less, considering this is a show about time-travelling gender-bending lesbian schoolgirls.

What's the title of the show? I need to add it to my "Future Series" list.

Strictly speaking, it's not anime. It's called Winx Club and it comes from Italy.

Small bug alert: text which is part of an a-href doesn't show up in the side bar at all. Getting rid of the link is probably a good idea, but if the text itself is removed the result can be gibberish.

Yep, it's a problem. It's tricky to reliably remove the link without its contents, but I'll see what I can do.
