Oh, lovely, you're a cheery one aren't you?

Lately, I haven't been able to sleep at night. And my boss gets annoyed if I sleep during the day.
It could be the weather, which has been disagreeable of late. If could be that I'm a suffering from some fatal disease. Or it could be that I drink too much Coke.
Since I can't do much about the first, and don't want to think about the second, I have decided to forswear the Coca Cola Corporation and all its products. Since I don't drink coffee and rarely drink tea, the only caffeine I consume will be naturally occuring.*
We'll see how that goes. If you note a marked change in the quantity, quality, or style of my postings, well, this is why.

I've never had an allergic reaction to food before. But I'm pretty sure that's what this is. I've taken one of my little pink pills and it seems to be dying down now.
Crosses Lean Cuisine Purely Fish off list of quick, convenient and non-allergenic meals.

Would Thomas the tank Engine please come to the white courtesy... platform.
Sydney's trains, normally fairly reliable, are currently a total mess. New regulations for regular medial checkups on drivers - which follow a train crash that killed 7 people after the driver had a heart attack - have sparked a "work to rule" reaction from a driver's union, the DAAG. The drivers involved are refusing to work overtime and driving slowly.
Of those who have had the medical chekups so far, fifteen per cent have failed.
The result is that only a quarter of trains are running on time, with many services running half an hour late.

I can now report that lightning comes in three types:
Type 1: Flash! <Pause> Rumble rumble rumble. Good old comfortable watching-the-show lightning.
Type 2: FLASH! CERACKACKACK!! The "heh, that was pretty close" lightning.
Type 3: BLAM!
Type 3 lightning is particularly effective at 4:30 in the morning when everybody is fast asleep. There's no point in doing it again, though, because nobody's going to get back to sleep for a long time.

The office (kerchunk kasqueek) has a new folding and stuffing machine (kerchunk kasqueek) for sending out letters (kerchunk kasqueek) to our customers (kerchunk kasqueek). Since I was away when the infernal gadget arrived (kerchunk kasqueek) they chose to install it (kerchunk kasqueek) on the empty desk (kerchunk kasqueek) next to mine (kerchunk kasqueek).
It can fold (kerchunk kasqueek) and stuff into envelopes (kerchunk kasqueek) 50 letters (kerchunk kasqueek) a minute (kerchunk kasqueek). Hooray (kerchunk kasqueek) for automation (kerchunk kasqueek).

Spent the day riding trains - big ones and little ones - herding kiddies, photographing kitties, and getting thrown up on.
Pictures - at least of the trains and the kitties - to follow.

I'm off to the Galston Valley Railway tomorrow! Must remember to take camera...
Friday, February 06
I just dropped my mobile phone down the stairs. I wonder where this bit goes? Hmm...

The computers at work actually co-operated today, which means I get my "time off". Thursday, Friday and Monday are all mine.
I'm going to see if I can get some of that "sleep" stuff too.
Tuesday, February 03
If I don't blow up all the computers tomorrow, I will be getting something known as time off. I think I actually had some of this once before... Yes! See here and here and also here.
The one day off I had last year will be followed up with three days this year! Yay!
Oh, and it's still raining.
