1 "Slack uses Markdown"

Which variant?  Aren't there like 17 mutually not-quite-compatible versions of Markdown because it doesn't have an actual formal spec?  I remember the brouhaha Jeff Whatsisface of Coding Horror and Discurse started when he tried to make up a consistent spec and had to abandon it.

Also, I assume the Twitter responses from Slack mean "suck it up, buttercups" and that maybe they'll get the new version working the way people want eventually, but they don't care that they broke everyone's muscle memory.

2 "Apple says it is losing money on repairs."  Sell a few more $6,000 monitor stands, guys.  That should solve your problem.  (Or maybe with Jony Ive gone they can make things a few millimeters thicker and a hair more repairable.

3 "Idiots."

Are they?  Or are they, as an industry, going to keep dying on that hill until it works, so they can try to end piracy?

I've personally cracked games I've bought to get rid of bugs, although not in a long time.

4 Google Stadia is particularly bad - full price games and a monthly fee for something that is markedly worse than what you have forever.

If someone is willing to eat the cost of the games - $9.99 per month gives you a library of 500 titles - then that could take off.  Maybe.

5 Strictly speaking, if you're willing to wait until next year and don't mind not gaming in pretend-4K, you'll be able to play without the $10/mo, only the cost of the games themselves.

Apple pies are delicious. But never mind apple pies. What colour is a green orange?
