The creationists are usually Republicans, of course, and before the Democrats publically went bananas in 2001, the creationists (and others among the religious right) annoyed me so much that I assumed that I was ideologically closer to the Dems.  And maybe I was, in fact, before they went nuts.

Well this is one Republican who is NOT persuaded by Creationism - I have a degree in anthropology - my biggest objection to creationism isnt the insistence of God's hand (which is supported by my own personal beliefs) but the utter lack of respect for the scientific method that came up with the theory of evolution.  Creationists use the Bible as a scientific text when it clearly was not meant to be so, and they extract scientific data that suits their argument, but they have yet to establish clear lines of thought from scientific methods that support their claim that the earth was created in the amount of time that their literal interpretation of Genesis indicates.  The actual science of physics, astronomy, geology, chemistry, and biology argue against them, and anthropology, in its effort to ensure its own scientific method, employs the hard core science evidence to support a theory of evolution.

I think it is undereducated and overly rated public school teachers, who are not required to place themselves under the rigors of the scientific method, only teach it, that have bungled the understanding of the history of the theory. 

Doesnt make me a Democrat though... *grin* ...Im sure Creationists would like to think I am, but I have also been told I am not a 'real' Christian if I entertain the possibility of the theory of evolution.

4 There are lots of Republicans who aren't Creationists - most of my best friends online are Republicans who aren't Creationists.  I do understand that while most Creationists are Republicans, it doesn't work the other way.  And Democrats have an even bigger anti-rational movement going on with Post-Modernism.

You're right in your assessment of Creationism.  I have no real problem with Theistic Evolution.  If you say yes, evolution happens, but God designed the universe in which evolution takes place, then okay.  I might not agree, but it's not false.

Creationism, on the other hand, is a morass of falsehoods and special pleading.  And Creationists are all too often smug sonsabitches who need to be smacked in the face.

6 I'd suggest trying _Mininova, but then you'd need a BitTorrent program like _Azureus or _uTorrent and anyway downloading TV shows off the internet is wrong.  So don't tell your dad. ;)
